The bad news is creeping in every day. The number of corona infections are increasing. Lockdown are relaxed. Now Monsoon may increase the infections and can speed up the new infections. Are you also planning to open your office closed for more than a month? You can reconsider your decision. Here we have compiled some guidelines for a perfect WFH during the lockdown. Many Indian companies are even planning to make the WFH a regular practice. If you find it hard maybe you need to reconsider your take. Let us start with a small to-do list with important tools that can help you.

Create a morning attendance routine:

First thing is to ensure that your employee starts the day at work. It should be at the same time as he was doing when the office was open. He can even save on travelling time and cost. But it’s important that they are just mot lazy and doing the work in a casual manner. So you need to fix the time for morning attendance You can use the Google sheets or there are some nice softwares also which can help you. Your HR will play a huge role in it. He/she need to ensure that everyone is following it.

Daily reporting of tasks in the morning:

Every team member shall be communicated in the morning. There tasks for the day. In case there is a long continuous task with an experienced employee. He can put the tasks for the day instead of management. This will also keep him attentive to the important tasks required to be done. It will also help the management to know the flow of work going on.

 

EOD reporting of tasks finished and pending with hour wise breakup:

This is another important practice to incorporate. Every employee shall report the tasks they did during the day. HR can prepare a fixed templet of reporting. You can share it on google sheets. A new sheet for every day. The employee need to fill it every closing. The tasks he was given in the morning. The tasks he has finished. Time taken in various tasks finished during the day List of tasks under process as the time of day end.  Clear instruction to not to waste time if they stuck in a task shall be there. In case any task is taking more time than the schedule. It needs a discussion with a senior. It is a common habit in employees when they stuck somewhere, they don’t communicate. Healthy communication is the key to a perfect WFH.

Availability on call or chat

Nowadays work needs a lot of communication. It is required to form both sides. Especially during the WFH when you are not nearby. You can use some software to make it easy to communicate. There is software that works like a walkie talkie. You don’t even need to dial. Also, you can make a communication guideline. It will make the work easy. Even if someone is not available at call. Every employee should be live on chat.

Don’t use what’s app for formal chats:

It is a normal practice to use what’s app for official work. It is convenient also. But then for interaction with the staff, we can ditch it. It is better to use some team management tolls for formal communications. reason being the time we spent on unwanted stuff every time we open the whats app. The same is going oy happen with your staff also. This will result in a loss of potentially productive time form both sides. You can use other options alike flock. It will prevent the mixing up of important office communication with tonnes of forwarded messages.
