Financial consultants including Chartered accounts to give their details in ITR of clients

📋
Back to all articles

Financial consultants including CA’s will have to provide their names and registration numbers while filing for their client’s income tax declaration from next year. The government will make changes in the forms of ITR to include such information. This will help crack down on fake consultants and will save the genuine tax payers from trouble.

It is seen in many cases that consultants file the ITR for their client but don’t provide the information. Some consultants don’t have any basic knowledge also file the ITR and later on clients have to suffer as they may be liable for interest , penalty and prosecution. This provision is made to provide a safeguard to both the clients as well the consultants.
