In a step to boost the industry, Yogi Adityanath introduced an Ordinance. UP Govt suspended Major Labour Laws via this ordinance. The industry is feeling good. But putting the major labour laws at abeyance may hit the rights of workers. This may end up in the exploitation of labour. On the other hand, many industries are closed down due to lockdown. They are losing due to standing expenses and zero turnover. Many of them may be at the verge of closure. If they actually shut down. What will happen to labour? How the migrants returned from the other states will be able to earn for their livelihood?
The decision has both implications. Many activists are opposing it. Some are also calling it unconstitutional.
