Arvind Kejriwal remand again extended till 15th April
On Monday, a Delhi Court remanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody until April 15 in the money laundering case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam. Kejriwal was arrested on the night of March 21.
The order was passed by Special CBI Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Courts after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) did not seek further remand. The ED Counsel stated, “We are asking for judicial custody, subject to the right of asking further custody as per SC judgment in Senthil Balaji case.”

Kejriwal had disregarded nine summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are also implicated in the case and are currently in judicial custody.
Upon his arrest, Kejriwal swiftly filed an urgent petition before the Supreme Court challenging his arrest. However, the petition was later withdrawn.

Additionally, Kejriwal has previously approached the Delhi High Court (division bench) to challenge the summons issued to him by the central probe agency. He has also filed an application seeking interim protection. The matter is scheduled for hearing on April 22.
Previously, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed two criminal complaints against Kejriwal in the city’s Rouse Avenue Courts, alleging non-compliance with the summons. Kejriwal has refrained from attending the summons, asserting that they are illegal.
