Change/Update of the vehicle in e-way bill By Sms
If the vehicle is entered/mentioned in the e-way bill and the vehicle could not be able to make it. Most of the time even the transporters are not accurate about the position and condition of the vehicle. So, there are some uncertainties that are always there. So the government has given a solution by changing the information of the vehicle. Update of the vehicle in the e-way bill through SMS can also be done. Following are the procedure:
Format of SMS/message:
EWBV EWB_NO Vehicle ReasCode
There should be space between every parameter.
Explanation of parameters:
EWBV – e-Way Bill Vehicle Updating Key Word – It is fixed for vehicle updation
EWBNo – 12 digits E-Way Bill for which the new vehicle has to be added
Vehicle – New Vehicle number for the movement of goods
ReasCode – Reason Code to indicate why the vehicle number is being added.

Explanation: This request is to update the new vehicle number to the existing E-Way Bill due to the breaking down of the previous vehicle
Reply Message: Vehicle details updated successfully and the date is 19/12/2017
Example 2 :
Message : EWBV 140000023451 UP12AA1234 TRS
SMS to: 97319 79899
Explanation: This request is to update the new vehicle number to the existing E-Way Bill due to transshipment
Reply Message: This e-Way Bill cannot be updated with the new vehicle number as the validity of the e-Way Bill is already over.
