ELSS can be the best option for tax saving in 2017. Equity market take a downward move after demonetization. A strong recovery from lower levels bring a hope of a bull run for coming two or three years. All mutual funds charge some brokerage for management of funds. Earlier that brokerage was deducted from the value of mutual funds on consolidated basis. But now if you are not investing through an agent or adviser you can invest in ELSS without brokerage .

  • PAN (Self attested copy )
  • Address proof (Self attested copy )
  •  ID proof (Self attested copy )

Visit the AMC whose ELSS you want to buy: For the first time you will have to visit the office of mutual fund with your documents. Once you submit your papers you can create the online login. Now you can manage your mutual fund investments online without any hassle. You can buy or redeem online. But remember ELSS have lock-in period of three years. Thus you will not be able to redeem them before three years.

You can also download the app for better control. Most of fund houses like ICICI , reliance have provided for the mobile app. You can also plan an SIP in the ELSS. It is hard to make a lump sum investment at the end of the year.

SIP stand for systematic investment plan. It help you to complete your investment target by small investments every month. At the end of year sufficient amount will be invested. You will also be able to get benefit of discipline in investment as it will capture the fund at various levels.
