Hybrid mode of hearing for all benches, said Gujarat high court(Pdf Attach)
As a result of this development, individuals can now participate in court proceedings at the Gujarat High Court either in person or virtually, using video conference technology.
The hybrid system, which was initially introduced as a ‘pilot project’ for four division benches of the High Court in June 2023, has demonstrated its effectiveness. Due to the success of the pilot project, this hybrid mode of operation is now being expanded to encompass all courtrooms within the High Court. According to a notification from the Registrar General, this comprehensive implementation across all courtrooms is scheduled to commence tomorrow, on September 29.
The current pilot initiative introducing a hybrid mode of case hearings for the High Court’s four division benches has seen seamless and successful operation over the past few months. In line with both this achievement and the Supreme Court of India’s directives, the ongoing pilot project for hybrid case hearings will now become a regular practice. This applies to all remaining division benches, single-judge benches, and any larger benches convened as needed at the High Court of Gujarat. The new standard practice is set to commence with the Cause-list for September 29, 2023, and onwards, as detailed in the official notification.
The notification further elaborated that lawyers and self-represented individuals interested in utilizing the hybrid system must submit their requests via an online portal accessible through the High Court’s official website.
