Liability of Registration arises on which day when you crosses the threshold limit i.e. Rs. 20 lakhs, you have to apply for registration within 30days from the date which you are liable. 
Sales of before registration can be shown only from the date of liability of registration till when you are registered. when you file your first return may consider all sales in the first return.
